The screen capture dbca_mgmt_options_page.gif shows the Management Options page, which appears in the Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) when you are creating or configuring a database with the Oracle Database 10g software.

This screen offers a set of options similar to the Management Option page in the Oracle Universal Installer.

If you select Grid Control Console, a drop-down menu provides a mechanism for selecting an existing Management Agent on the database host.

If you select Database Console, you can also enable email notifications so you will be contacted when Enterprise Manager alerts are triggered, and you can also enable daily backups to be performed by the Database Console. If you enable daily backups, you can also select the start time and host logon credentials required for the daily backups.
