The Oracle Procedural Gateway for APPC offers Oracle applications access to transactions that use the IBM Advanced Program-to-Program Communication (APPC) network protocol. CICS TS, IMS TM, and any other mainframe APPC-enabled transactions can be executed from a remote system --- without any Oracle code on the mainframe.

Oracle Transparent Gateways is one of the two asynchronous solutions offered by Oracle for information integration. Transparent Gateways provide the flexibility, power, and scalability to transparently access many non-Oracle data stores, including DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, Ingres and Sybase, from an Oracle environment.
