The image on the left shows a dense profusion of purple creeping phlox, a flower that is commonly used for ground cover. In addition to the phlox, the image includes a small amount of greenery between the flowers. The flowers are small with few details, thus the photograph appears to have been taken at a moderate distance from the ground.

The image on the right shows a closeup of the same purple phlox flowers shown in the image on the left. Because the photograph on the right was apparently taken close to the ground, it includes fewer flowers but provides more detail. For example, the petals of each flower are clearly lighter in color than the middle of the flower. In addition, the greenery is recognizable as grass that is growing between the flower groupings.
