This is a text description of Figure 7-4, "Creating Devices".
The text surrounding the figure describes the use of this scenario menu. The figure is a screen capture image and contains example data that may not match your system. You must make selections appropriate for your system. The title bar label is "Untitled - Communications Server SNA Node Configuration".
This is the same as figure 7-2, except that different items are checked or selected.
The menu bar has six menus labeled: "File", "Edit", "Scenarios", "Server", "Options", and "Help".
The client area* has the title "Scenario: CPI-C, APPC or 5250 Emulation" and two sub windows, each with a label.
The left sub window is labeled "Follow these steps". It contains the note "* Steps are required." The window lists nine steps. Each numbered step begins with two buttons. The first button has the icon of a running human figure. The second button is labeled with a question mark, "?". An arrow points to step two. Steps one, four, and seven each have a check mark. The steps are as follows:
"* 1. Node setup". (The asterisk, "*", indicates a required step.)
"* 2. Device configuration"
"* 3. Peer connection configuration"
"4. Transaction program configuration"
"5. Local LU 6.2 configuration"
"6. Partner LU 6.2 configuration"
"7. Configure modes"
"8. Connection network configuration"
"9. CPI-C side information configuration"
The right sub window is labeled "Definition Hierarchy by Function". It is a directory tree and has four selections, each with a check box.
The first selection is "Node", and its check box is checked. The second selection is "Devices". "Devices" has been selected (it is highlighted). The third selection has a check in its check box. This third selection is "CPI-C and APPC". The fourth selection is "APPN Options".
The four buttons at the bottom are labeled: "Finish", "Create", "Modify", and "Remove".
