The Report Wizard helps you to quickly and easily define a single-query report for both Web and paper layouts. Reports Builder uses what you specify on each page of the wizard to create a data model and layout for the report. After the wizard has created the report, you can modify it as you would any other report.
A powerful quality of the Report Wizard is its ability to operate in re-entrant mode. This means you can use the Report Wizard to modify an existing single- or multiquery report. The Report Wizard is tabbed when you use it on an existing report, enabling you to quickly go to any page.
The Report Wizard provides six buttons to help you navigate through its pages:
Cancel |
Cancels all changes you have made (if any), and exit the wizard |
Help |
Displays online Help text for the current page of the wizard |
Back |
Navigates to the previous page in the wizard |
Next |
Navigates to the next page in the wizard |
Apply |
Applies changes you have made (re-entrant wizard only) |
Finish |
Saves changes you have made with the wizard (if any), and exit the wizard |
If you click Next before you have entered all necessary information for a particular wizard page, the wizard prevents you from navigating to the next page. Similarly, if you have not entered all necessary information into the wizard when you click Apply or Finish, the wizard automatically places you onto the page where you can finish entering the required data.
To prevent this page from reappearing, clear the Show this page next time check box.
