The JDBC PDS is pre-configured with the following JDBC drivers:
Oracle Thick JDBC Driver
Oracle Thin JDBC Driver
Javasoft JDBC-ODBC Bridge
Merant JDBC drivers are supplied with Oracle Application Server (OracleAS)
for accessing other data sources. If you wish to use these drivers with the
JDBC PDS, you must install the J2EE and Web Caching option from OracleAS
into your Oracle Developer Suite ORACLE_HOME,
and then add the following to the ORACLE_HOME/reports/conf/jdbcpds.conf
file:
Example of adding a Sybase-Merant driver in the
ORACLE_HOME/reports/conf/jdbcpds.conf
file:
<jdbcpds>
<driverInfo>
<driver name = "sybase-merant"
subProtocol = "merant:sybase"
connectString = "mainProtocol:subProtocol://databaseName"
class = "com.merant.datadirect.jdbc.sybase.SybaseDriver"
connection = "oracle.reports.plugin.datasource.jdbcpds.JDBCConnectionHandling"
loginTimeout = "0">
</driver>
</driverInfo>
</jdbcpds>
Please refer to the jdbcpds.conf
file
for detailed information.
Note that the logintTimeout property is not supported, so it is set to 0.
Note: Any reports using the Merant drivers supplied with OracleAS must be deployed with OracleAS and no other application server. If you wish to use reports with JDBC queries with another application server, you must license the Merant drivers or use other JDBC drivers for development and deployment.
