Use the Items panel to select the measures to include in the query. With the measures, you can choose any of the measures' dimensions to use for creating a view of the data.
In the Available box, view all the measure folders that are listed with their associated measures. The dimensions that are associated with these measures and the hierarchies for the dimensions are also listed.
Select the measures to include in the query. Be sure to select each measure by name. You cannot select measures by selecting folders.
Determine which of the measures' dimensions and which of the dimension hierarchies that you want to use to create the data view. Any dimensions that you do not select are not available on the Dimensions panel, and only the data corresponding to the first member of the first level in the default hierarchy is returned.
If you want to use all of the measures' dimensions in specifying the view, then choose Automatically Add/Remove Dimensions.
If you want to use some of the measures' dimensions in specifying the view, then select them by name. Do not choose Automatically Add/Remove Dimensions.
Use the right arrow button to move the selected measures, dimensions, and hierarchies from the Available box to the Selected box.
Tip: As you move items from the Available box to the Selected box, you specify the items for the query. Some of the items that are listed in the Available box might be incompatible with the items that are specified in the Selected box. The items are incompatible if they do not have shared dimensions.
If this situation occurs, then you will notice a yellow triangle icon beside the item name in the Available box. The yellow triangle icon and the following text will also display near the bottom of the Items panel: Indicates Incompatibility with Selected Items. While you can move incompatible items from the Available box to the Selected box, you will need to ensure all items in the Selected box are compatible before continuing with the definition of the query.
Use the other panels of the OLAP QueryBuilder to further refine the selection.
