Creating an OLAP query

You can easily create a query of OLAP data using the Report Wizard.

To create a query of OLAP data:

  1. Choose Tools > Report Wizard.

  2. On the Layout page, select the layout, such as Create Paper Layout only.

  3. Click Next.

  4. On the Style page, select the desired report style, such as Matrix with Group and optionally specify a title.

  5. Click Next.

  6. Select OLAP Query and click Next.

  7. Select Query Definition to display the Connect (OLAP Data Source) dialog box and establish a connection to Oracle OLAP.

    After you connect, the Query Wizard displays.

  8. Complete the steps of the Query Wizard to generate a Query in the OLAP QueryBuilder and click Finish when you are done. You see one Dimensions panel for each dimension in the query.

  9. Complete the Report Wizard and click Finish when you are done.
