Use the Select by Matching Characters dialog box to choose dimension values that match a specified string of characters.
Selection Type box -- Contains the following options for the way newly selected values will affect the current selection:
Select -- Replaces the current selection with new values.
Add -- Adds new values to the current selection.
Keep -- Keeps newly chosen values in the current selection and discards the others.
Remove -- Removes newly selected values from the current selection and keeps the others.
Dimension Values that box -- Specifies whether matching dimension values contain, start with, end with, or match exactly the specified string of characters.
Character(s) box -- Enter the text to be matched when choosing dimension values.
In hierarchy box -- Lists the hierarchies that are defined for the selected dimension. Select the hierarchy that you want to use or select NONE to search all the values in the dimension. This box does not appear if the dimension does not have any hierarchies defined for it.
At level(s) box -- Lists the levels of the current dimension. Select the levels that you want to include in your new selection or select All to search all the values in a dimension. This box does not appear if the dimension does not have any hierarchies defined for it.
Ignore capitalization box -- When this box is selected (as it is by default), the text you entered will match any combination of upper- and lowercase letters. Clear this box if you want to match the capitalization of the text you entered.
Script box -- Displays the criteria that will be added to the selection script if you choose OK.
Preview button -- Displays the Preview dialog box, which allows you to examine the change you are considering and lists the dimension values that will be selected if you adopt the change.
