To run the conversion utility interactively, open a report or library containing PL/SQL V1 or V2 code in Reports Builder, then save the application.
Important: After the conversion utility converts and saves an application, even if you choose to ignore all suggested conversions, the utility can never again be invoked for that application. This prevents the utility from overwriting any changes you may have made manually.
Each PL/SQL V1 or V2 statement in your trigger, PL/SQL block, or program unit is presented in the Conversion dialog box. The dialog box also contains the action the conversion utility will take if you choose to convert. You have complete control over whether you accept the proposed change, ignore it, convert the entire application , or stop the process entirely. (You can also use the PL/SQL V1 Conversion Options dialog box to set parameters that control the conversion process behind the scenes.)
The utility keeps track of the changes you have made (and those you
chose not to make) and summarizes them at the end of the conversion process
in a log file called module.plg
.
You can then invoke the PL/SQL editor to manually update the application.
