Conditional Formatting dialog box

The Conditional Formatting dialog box enables you to add, edit, or delete format exceptions that conditionally set formatting attributes (font or color) to highlight data in your report output. Using the Format Exception dialog box (displayed when you click New or Edit), you can quickly and easily specify output formatting attributes for a selected layout object based on defined conditions.

This dialog box contains:

Format Exceptions

Lists the format exceptions that have been defined in the Format Exception dialog box. Formatting is applied in the order that the format exceptions are listed; a format exception will override a previous format exception if both evaluate to TRUE.

New

Displays the Format Exception dialog box to allow you to define a new format exception.

Edit

Displays the Format Exception dialog box to allow you to edit an existing format exception.

Delete

Deletes the selected format exception.

Sample

Shows sample output when the selected format exception evaluates to TRUE. If you choose to hide the object, the words "Hide the Object" display here.

Up
Down

Moves the selected format exception in the Format Exceptions list up or down. Note: you can also drag and drop items in the list.
