Displaying Oracle Graphics 6i charts in Oracle Reports 10g

Oracle Graphics 6i, or Graphics Builder, and its OGD image format, is obsolete in Oracle Reports 10g. Instead, use the Graph Wizard, which produces graphs that are automatically translated into JSP tags to enable you to add graphs to Web reports.

Reports built with previous versions of Oracle Reports containing Oracle Graphics 6i charts will continue to run when the report is opened in Oracle Reports 10g if the Oracle Graphics 6i runtime is installed on the same machine in a separate ORACLE_HOME. However, this is not a supported configuration, and Oracle will not fix bugs that result from this configuration.

When you run a report that contains an Oracle Graphics 6i chart, you may get the following error message:

REP-1811: Error while generating graph. SSL fatal error: Cannot execute g90runm.

If this happens, you need to create a link from g90runm to g90runm.sh in your ORACLE_HOME/bin directory:

ln -s g90runm.sh g90runm

Note that you also need to specify the path of your Oracle 6i home in the ORACLE_ GRAPHICS6I_HOME environment variable in g90runm.sh and ensure that your Oracle 6i home directory is in that path.
