Use the Save Selection dialog box to save a selection or to replace a previously saved selection.
Dimension label -- Identifies the dimension to which the selection belongs.
Hierarchy label -- Identifies the last selected hierarchy used in the saved selection. When the selection is used again, this hierarchy becomes the current hierarchy for the dimension.
Database label -- Identifies the database that contains the dimension.
Save Selection as box -- Select one of the following buttons:
New button -- Saves the current selection as a new saved selection. When you choose New, the following boxes appear:
In the Name box, type a name for the saved selection. It can be 16 characters long. In the Description box, type a description for the saved selection.
Replacement button -- Replaces a selection with the current selection. When you choose Replacement, a list of the saved selections for the dimension appears. Click the saved selection that you want to replace.
Note: You cannot replace saved selections that were created in Express Administrator.
Type box -- Select one of the following types for the selection:
Dynamic -- Evaluates the selection criteria based on current status. The actual values included in the selection may change. For example, if the selection script specifies "Select last three months," a dynamic selection includes the three months prior to the month in which the user chooses the saved selection.
Static -- Selects the exact dimension values included in the selection at the time the selection was saved. For example, if the selection script specifies "Select last three months," a static selection includes the three months prior to the month in which the saved selection was created, no matter when the query is run.
Script box -- Displays the selection script for the saved selection, provided that the Show selection script box is checked in the Selector Options dialog box.
