Adding items and objects to a template

To add items and objects to a template:

  1. In the Paper Layout view of the Template Editor, click the Margin button in the toolbar to display the margin area.

  2. Refer to the topics under Next step to create objects in the margin of your template. You cannot create objects in the body of a template.

Note: If you create a field object, the field is renamed when the template is applied to a report. For example, if you create a field named F_1, the field is renamed to F_1_SEC2 when the template is applied to a report. Thus, if you reference F_1 in boilerplate (&F_1), these references will need to be updated.
