The Child Column property specifies the database column in the child query that relates to a column in the parent group (that is, parent column). The Child Column must be a database column, it cannot be a summary or formula column.

Links |
Values |
Database column name |
Default |
Blank if a group link rather than a column to column link. |
Required/Optional |
Required for column-to-column links; Optional for group links |
Parent Query: SELECT DEPTNO FROM EMP
Child Query: SELECT &PARM_1 COL_1, &PARM2
COL_2
FROM EMP
WHERE &PARM_1 = :DEPTNO
Note how the WHERE clause makes a bind reference to DEPTNO, which was selected in the parent query. Also, this example assumes that you have created a link between the queries in the Data Model view with no columns specified.
