About unmatched (null) rows (Query Builder)

Query Builder lets you choose whether to retrieve unmatched rows when you are using a relationship in a query. An unmatched row occurs when the relationship connects tables where there are values on one side that have no corresponding values on the other side. SQL users will be familiar with this as a query condition known as an outer join. Unmatched rows usually return null values.

Note: A row that returns a value of 0 (zero) is not the same as an unmatched row. The Suppress Mismatches option in the Set Relationship dialog box works on rows that return null values, not 0 values. Use this feature if you want to display data where one table has no values entered, such as orders with no line items. When using an unmatched relationship, you can only choose one side on which to display unmatched records.
