The Ruler Settings dialog box defines preferences for the appearance of rulers in the Report Editor.
This dialog box contains:
Grid Spacing |
Specifies the interval at which grid lines are to appear for each ruler unit.
| ||||||||||||
Horizontal |
Specifies the size of a character cell unit, in points. Type any positive, whole number. Note: Points are a printer's type size that makes up a pica. Each pica contains twelve points and is equivalent to one-sixth of an inch. (A point is 1/72 of an inch.)
Number of Snap Points Per Grid Spacing |
Specifies how many snap points you want for each grid line. Snap points are used by the editor to place objects when you have Grid Snap in the View menu checked. The more snap points there are per grid point the finer the control you have over the placement of objects. Note: Suppose Unit is Inch, Grid Spacing is 1 and Number of Snap Points Per Grid Spacing is 1. When you move or create any objects, they are placed to the nearest inch. If you change Number of Snap Points Per Grid Spacing to 2, objects are placed to the nearest half-inch.
Units |
Specifies which unit of measurement is used for the rulers in the current view.
| ||||||||||||
Vertical |
Specifies the size of a character cell unit, in points. Type any positive, whole number. |
