Database Roles

Description:

Database Roles displays a dialog containing two commands:

Role Lets you define and modify security roles affecting menu access. Role Access  Lets you control which users have role administration privilege.

Role Role lets you define or modify security roles that affect menu security.

New Lets you define a security role by displaying the Role List dialog. Edit Lets you edit a security role by displaying the Role dialog for a previously defined role. You can modify any of the fields previously listed for the New option, including adding or deleting users from the role. Remove  Lets you remove a role from the Role List. Save  Lets you save the modified Role List. Exit Lets you exit without accepting any changes.

Role Dialog Oracle Forms displays the Role List dialog, including the following options:

Role Name Specifies the name of the security role. User Name Specifies the name of the users you want to add to this role. (User names are not required; you can create a role now and assign users to it later.) Debug Mode Specifies that operators who are members of this role can run a menu in debug mode. OS Command Specifies that operators who are members of this role can exit from a form to the operating system, where they can enter operating system commands. Background Menu Specifies that operators who are members of this role can display the background menu as a show-keys window.

Role Access Role Access lets you grant or revoke role administration privileges to individuals. Oracle Forms displays the Grant Role dialog, including the following options:

Operation Specifies Grant or Revoke. User Specifies the user name for which you want to grant or revoke role administration privilege.
