LOV Wizard: Column Display Page

LOV Wizard: LOV Display page

Use this page to specify display properties for the columns you have included in the LOV.

The table lists the LOV column names and their properties:

Title

The LOV column title. The default column title is the name of the record group column.

Width

The LOV column display width. The default column value width depends on the data type and width of the corresponding record group column. You can specify a column width of 0 to indicate that the column should be included but not displayed in the LOV.

Return Value

A parameter or global variable name to which the column value should be assigned. The default value is NULL. This is an optional item.

The Look Up Return Item button displays a list of all the items and parameters in a form. The items are prefixed with the block name (block_name.item_name) and the parameters will be prefixed with the word parameter (parameter.parameter_name). Select an entry in this list and then click OK to copy the entry into the Return Value field of the selected column.

To change a column property:

  1. Select the appropriate field in the table.
  2. Enter the desired value.

Note: The LOV column names cannot be edited, because they are taken from the record group on which the LOV is based.

The Automatically Size Columns checkbox specifies whether the LOV column widths should be determined automatically. (If the column width is set to 0, the column is always hidden, regardless of how Automatically Size Columns is set.) This checkbox sets the LOV property Automatic Column Width.

  •  If Automatically Size Columns is checked, Oracle Forms determines the column width at runtime by using the greater of the following two values:
  • If Automatically Size Columns is unchecked, the specified column width is used, even if the column title is partially hidden.
