About the Use Security Menu Module Property

To set the Use Security property:

  1. In the Menu Editor or Object Navigator, select the menu module.
  2. Choose Tools | Property Palette.
  3. In the Property Palette, under the Menu Security node, set the Use Security property.

Yes

Oracle Forms will enforce security.

No

Oracle Forms will ignore security.

  1. Choose Program | Compile Module to compile the menu module.

The Use Security menu module property specifies whether Oracle Forms should enforce menu security at runtime. Oracle Forms does not enforce menu security at runtime unless the Use Security property was set to Yes when you compiled the menu module (to create the .MMX file). If you compile the menu module with the Use Security property set to No, all end users will have access to all menu items.

To circumvent role-based menu security while testing an application, set the Use Security property to No and compile the menu module. When done testing, reset the Use Security property to Yes and recompile the menu module.
