The LOV Wizard enables you to create and modify a list of values (LOV). An LOV is a scrollable popup window that provides the user with a single- or multi-column selection list. You can use the LOV Wizard to create an LOV based on an existing record group or a new record group populated by a SQL query.
The LOV Wizard can operate in re-entrant mode. In re-entrant mode, you can use the LOV Wizard to modify an existing LOV, even if the LOV was not originally created using the Layout Wizard.
To invoke the LOV Wizard in re-entrant mode, select an existing LOV in the Object Navigator and choose Tools | LOV Wizard. In re-entrant mode, you can navigate through the wizard's pages using tabs at the top of the window.
The LOV Wizard provides six buttons to help you navigate through its pages:
In the re-entrant LOV Wizard, you can also navigate by means of the tabs at the top of the Wizard pages. The arrow buttons to the right of the tabs enable you to see tabs that are not visible beyond the edge of the Wizard.
Note: If you click Next or Back before you have entered all required information for a particular wizard page, the wizard prevents you from navigating away from the page. Similarly, if you have not entered all required information into the wizard when you click Apply or Finish, the wizard automatically places you onto the page where data is missing or incorrect.
The LOV Wizard Welcome Page is automatically displayed the first time you invoke the LOV Wizard. If you do not wish this page to display on future invocations of the wizard, uncheck the Display this page next time checkbox. This setting can also be changed in the Preferences dialog box.
