Creating an Oracle Database Server User-Defined Datatype with the Type Wizard

You must be connected to an Oracle Database Server to create a new Oracle datatype.

To create a new Oracle user-defined datatype:

  1. In the Object Navigator, expand the Database Objects node.
  2. Expand the schema node where you want to create a new datatype.
  3. Click the Types node under the schema.
  4. Click the Create icon in the Navigator toolbar or choose Edit | Create from the menu to display the Type Wizard.
  5. Follow the steps to create an object type or a collection type. Refer to the Type Wizard help for additional guidance.
The Type Wizard creates and stores the object type or collection type in the Oracle Database Server that is currently connected.
