About Creating a Master-Detail Relation

There are two ways to create a master-detail relation in Oracle Forms:

Limitations

In general, you should not create a master detail relation where the master block is based on a table and the detail block is based on a stored procedure. Querying and coordination do not always work in such a relation. However, there are no such limitations in the opposite case where the master block is based on a stored procedure and the detail block is based on a table.

Changing Relation Properties

Once you create a relation between two blocks, you can change its properties at any time. When you change the Delete Record Behavior or Coordination properties of an existing relation, Oracle Forms adds, removes, or edits triggers as required.
