Calling User-Named Subprograms

Calling user-named procedures and functions is similar to calling Built-in procedures and functions; you can use both named and positional association to pass parameters. You can reference form objects in user-named subprograms just as you would in the parameter List of a Built-in subprogram.

When you compile a form or menu module to create a runtime file, Oracle Forms must be able to find any subprograms called by that module. The module in which a subprogram is defined determines where that subprogram can be called.

When you develop an application that includes more than one module, keep in mind the following scoping rules:

You can create a library of user-named subprograms by writing procedures and functions directly in a library module or by copying subprograms from other modules into a library.
