About Subclass Information

During the life of an application, it may become necessary to updateinformation about the source for a subclassed object.

For example, if the name of the source object has changed, Oracle Forms will be unable to locate the object when you compile a module that refers to it. Similarly, moving a source module from the file system into the database invalidates any references to that module.

You can update information about a subclassed object's source by setting the Subclass Information property.

The definition of a subclassed object includes information about the source object on which it is based, including the name of the source object, the name of the source module, and the storage location (file system or database).

Note: You should use caution when modifying an object's Subclass Information. If you enter the name or location of the source object incorrectly, the object's inherited properties will revert to the default values for that object's type.
