About the Open API

The Oracle Forms Open API is an advanced feature for C/C++ developers that have a thorough understanding of Form objects and their relations.

Oracle Forms exposes an open application programming interface to create or modify form modules (.fmb files). The open application programming interface (Open API) offers the power and flexibility to create or modify form modules in a non-interactive environment. It is designed with the C/C++ programmer in mind.

A Java version of the open API is also available. See Programming Oracle Forms with JDAPI.
