You can use the Object Navigator's Fast Search feature to quickly locate objects and nodes in the Object Navigator. To begin a search, enter the string you want to search for in the Find field at the top of the Object Navigator window. As you enter each character, Oracle Forms moves the cursor to the next Object Navigator entry that matches the regular expression <search string> * , where * is a wildcard representing any number of characters.
For example, when the cursor is on the Forms node, typing the letter A in the Find field moves it to the first entry beginning with A, which might be the Alerts node. If the next character you typed was C, the cursor would move to the first entry that started with AC, which might be an item named ACCOUNT_REP.
When necessary, Oracle Forms expands collapsed entries to show an object that matches the search string.
The following search commands are available in the Object Navigator.
Searching is circular; if no entries are found, Oracle Forms wraps to the beginning or end of the hierarchy to continue searching for objects that match the search criteria.
