About Modules
Oracle Forms applications consist of individual application components called
modules. There are four types of modules in Oracle Forms:
-
- A collection of objects and code routines. Objects that may be defined in
a form module include windows, text items (fields), check boxes, buttons,
message boxes, Lists of values, and blocks of PL/SQL code called triggers.
-
-
- A collection of menus (a main menu object and any number of submenu objects)
and menu item commands that together make up an application menu.
-
-
- A collection of user-named procedures, functions, and packages that can
be called from other modules in the application.
-
-
-
- A collection of objects that can be used to develop applications.
You can build a single application from multiple form, menu, and library modules as needed. Modules can be saved to the file system or the database, and can be converted between binary, text, and compiled executable formats.
