This is a text description of dev_guide_sp1.gif. This figure shows how OracleAS Portal incorporates portlets from database providers. In one case, the database provider communicates with the Parallel Page Engine across an Oracle Net connection. In another case, a remote database provider communicates across an HTTP connection via the Federated Portal Adapter.
