The figure consists of the following components:

Node1, Node2, Node3, Node4, Node5, and Node6 are active nodes. If Node1 fails, then Node2 handles all the requests.

The Oracle Calendar server will store its data on file system residing on shared disk, which is accessed by only one node of the cluster at any given time. So the Oracle Calendar server will only be running on Node1. Only after a failure of the Oracle Calendar server on Node1, the Oracle Calendar server becomes active on cluster Node2.

There is one single Oracle Collaboration Suite Database shared by both nodes.

A hardware load balancer is placed at the front end of the Oracle Internet Directory tier nodes of Identity Management. Another hardware load balancer is placed at front of the OracleAS Single Sign-On tier machines

There are three firewalls shown in the figure. One firewall is for the cluster, second firewall is for the Oracle Internet Directory tier and the third firewall is for Oracle Single Sign-On tier.

Oracle home #1 and #2 are created for Oracle Collaboration Suite Database. Oracle home #3 and Oracle home #4 are created for Oracle Internet Directory tier. Oracle home #5 and Oracle home #6 are created for Oracle Collaboration Suite Applications. Oracle home #7 is created for the Oracle Calendar server. Oracle home #8 and #9 are created for OracleAS Single Sign-On tier.
