The figure consists of the following components:

Node1 and Node 2 are active nodes. If Node1 fails, then Node2 handles all the requests.

The Oracle Calendar server will store its data on file system residing on shared disk, which is accessed by only one node of the cluster at any given time. So the Oracle Calendar server will only be running on Node1. Only after a failure of the Oracle Calendar server on Node1, the Oracle Calendar server becomes active on cluster Node2.

There is one single Oracle Collaboration Suite Database shared by both nodes.

The cluster is front ended by a load balancer.

Oracle home #1 and #2 are created for Oracle Collaboration Suite Database. Oracle home #3 and Oracle home #4 are created for Identity Management service. Oracle home #5 and Oracle home #6 are created for Oracle Collaboration Suite Applications. Oracle home #7 is created for the Oracle Calendar server.
