This guide is organized to provide the information needed by specific groups of readers. Chapters focus on Connector installation, setup and configuration, administrator activities, end user activities, and developer procedures. The Appendices provide supplemental descriptions of eBusiness Application Integration (EAI) mappings, Entity Attribute Mappings (EAMs), and Oracle scripts that are run during installation.

The next few pages indicate the range of Connector-related information provided in the guide. The left column identifies the reader while the column on the right lists activities described in the guide.


Siebel System Administrator	The Siebel System Administrator should refer to this guide for Connector-related instructions for: Installation activities (Installing the Connector) including: installing and configuring the Siebel Server creating the ODBC data source configuring the Oracle Receiver and the BIM activating workflows configuring the Siebel Client for Server request invocation Setup activities (Setting Up the Connector) including: create and synchronize eAI value maps populate integration ID column load Oracle application data verify the Oracle data load avoid possible setup and configuration problems Administrative Activities (System Administrator Procedures) including: integrating organization data integrating inventory location data monitoring outbound/inbound data integrations troubleshooting error messages
Oracle Application DBA	The Oracle Application DBA should refer to this guide for Connector-related instructions for: Installation Activities (Installing the Connector) including: installing and setting up the Oracle Applications R10.7 or Oracle Applications R11i creating the Siebel username and password that will be used with the Oracle RDBMS installing the Oracle Client running scripts
Siebel Business Analyst	The Siebel Business Analyst should work with the Siebel Administrator to create and synchronize EAI value maps. These activities are explained in Setting Up the Connector.
Developers	Developers working with the Oracle Applications Connector team should refer to this guide for Connector-related instructions for: Developer Activities (Developer Procedures) including: running the Oracle Receiver working with integration objects running the Oracle Application Wizard Creating new data integration points
Siebel Application End User	The Connector End User (for example, Sales) should refer to this guide for Connector-related instructions for: User Activities (User Procedures) including: creating an order updating an order verifying an order creating an account updating an account verifying an account update

It is strongly recommended that you read Fundamentals so that you can make optimal use of your Siebel application, especially if you are new to Siebel software. Fundamentals provides detailed coverage of the Siebel user interface and how to use it; working with data; locating information with the query and find features; sharing information with other users; and so on. The features presented in Fundamentals appear throughout the Siebel application suite; they are introduced through procedures you can learn and use in your own Siebel application.
