The figure shows a load balancer fronting two nodes (node 1 and node 2). Each of the nodes run Oracle HTTP Server.

The Oracle HTTP Server on nodes 1 and 2 can forward requests to nodes 3, 4, 5, and 6, because all the nodes are in the same cluster.

Nodes 3 and 4 run OC4J_WebCenter, and Nodes 5 and 6 run OC4J_Content.

The Oracle HTTP Server instances on nodes 5 and 6 are disabled.

OC4J_Content on nodes 5 and 6 connects to a Real Application Clusters database.

Nodes 3, 4, 5, and 6 connect to a shared storage that is used for Oracle Metadata Services (MDS).
