This section discusses the following software updates implemented in this release of the connector.
Incorporation of Multilanguage Support
In addition to English, this release of the connector supports the French and Japanese languages. The following are documentation updates pertaining to the incorporation of this feature:
The installation media directory includes resource bundle files for the languages supported by the connector. These resource bundle files are described in the "Files and Directories That Comprise the Connector" section.
The "Step 3: Copying the Connector Files and External Code" section specifies the destination directory into which you must copy the resource bundle files during the deployment procedure.
The "Step 4: Configuring the Oracle Identity Manager Server" section describes the procedure to change to the required input locale and to clear content related to connector resource bundles from the server cache.
Chapter 4, "Known Issues" discusses a new issue related to the use of non-English locales.
Determining the Release Number of the Connector
Instructions to determine the release number of the connector are given in the "Determining the Release Number of the Connector" section.
Change in the External Code File Requirement
If the target system is Oracle Database, then you use the ojdbc14.jar
file instead of the classes12.zip
file. This change has been made in the "Step 3: Copying the Connector Files and External Code" section.
New Adapters
The following adapters have been added to the list in the "Step 7: Compiling Adapters" section:
DBRES Update Role
DBRES Update Group
Introduction of a Troubleshooting Utility
Chapter 3, " Testing and Troubleshooting" has been added to provide instructions on using the troubleshooting utility to test connector functionality.
Reduced Number of Connector XML Files
The dbtablesResAdp.xml
file has replaced the remaining connector XML files that were provided in the xml\Xellerate Config
directory. This change has been reflected in the "Files and Directories That Comprise the Connector" section.
Changes to the Known Issues List
The following point has been added in the Known Issues list in Chapter 4:
"The directory path that you specify as the value of the Configuration XML Path
IT resource parameter must not contain spaces."
The following point has been removed from the Known Issues list:
"Reconciliation of users deleted from the target system works as expected only if there is a single IT resource defined for the resource object."
The following documentation-specific updates have been made in this release of the guide:
In the "Reconciliation of New and Updated User Profiles" section, information has been added about changes to be made in the configuration XML file if any user fields are updated.
In the "Files and Directories That Comprise the Connector" section, descriptions have been added for all the XML files in the xml\DB Schema XML
directory.
Oracle Identity Manager uses a target system user account to connect to and exchange data with the target system. The "Step 1: Verifying Deployment Requirements" section provides information about the minimum rights that must be assigned to this user account.
In the "Step 2: Configuring the Target System" section, possible values of the following attributes have been modified:
col_type
(column
)
xel_data_source
(column
)
col_type
(record_lookup_key
)
xel_data_source
(record_lookup_key
)
Information in the "Sample Configuration" section has been reworded.
Instructions to copy the connector JAR files and adapter files to all the nodes of a clustered environment have been added in the following sections:
Instructions to use Oracle Identity Manager for linking multiple installations of the target system are given in the "Configuring the Connector for Multiple Sets of Database Application Tables" section.
Information about including certain parameters in the sqlnet.ora
file has been added in the "Secure JDBC Connectivity Configuration for Oracle Database" section.
Instructions to make changes in the configuration XML file for disabling secure JDBC connectivity have been added in the "Disabling Secure JDBC Connectivity" section.
The "Troubleshooting" section has been moved to Chapter 3.
This connector cannot be used in a scenario in which user attributes are stored in more than two database tables. This limitation of the connector has been added in the Known Issues list in Chapter 4.
