Implementing Siebel Business Applications on DB2 UDB for z/OS > Preparing for Implementation on the DB2 Host > Configuring DB2 Connect > Setting the DB2CONNECT_IN_APP_PROCESS Environment VariableThe DB2 Connect system environment variable, DB2CONNECT_IN_APP_PROCESS, determines whether or not DB2 Connect clients running on a DB2 Connect EE server must run within an agent. When this variable is set to NO, local clients have to run within an agent. The default value for the DB2CONNECT_IN_APP_PROCESS variable is YES. You can use DB2 Connect simply as a means of allowing Siebel applications to connect to the Siebel Database on the z/OS host. Alternatively, you can implement the following features of z/OS provided by DB2 Connect: To enable these features when DB2 Connect is located with your Siebel applications, you must set the DB2 environment variable, DB2CONNECT_IN_APP_PROCESS, to NO. For additional information on DB2 Connect features and the DB2CONNECT_IN_APP_PROCESS variable, refer to the relevant IBM documentation. For additional information on connection concentration, see Setting DB2 Connect EE Configuration Options. |
