About Database Environments

There are potentially three database environments, Development, Production Test, and Production.

The Development environment is where developers user Siebel Tools to customize Siebel applications, and were the customizations are compiled in a Siebel Repository File (SRF). The Production Test environment is where an installed and fully upgraded Development environment is undergoes the quality assurance process. The Production environment is the final step, your live business environment, it includes all of your Siebel Enterprises worldwide.
