Present and Attend Modes in Siebel eCollaboration

At the agent's discretion, either participant can present desktop imagery while the other participant observes. The presenter can display desktop applications or any other imagery present on the desktop.

When the agent initiates Present mode, an attending window opens on the caller's desktop. The window's interior is black until the agent presents desktop imagery to the caller. When the agent presents, the caller can only see the portion of the desktop contained within the agent's capture frame.

The caller can end the presentation session by clicking on the close button on the window's title bar. If the agent ends the presentation session, the attending window also closes.

If the agent allows the caller to present, the caller sees one or both of the following dialog boxes:

  • The caller is offered a download of the Present mode plug-in. This only occurs in the following cases:
    • If the caller has never used Present mode.
    • If the caller's Present mode plug-in must be updated because the eCollaboration server has been updated and requires a newer version of the client software.
  • The Moderator Request Received dialog box allows the caller to click Ok to allow the agent to view the caller's desktop or click Cancel to decline.
    • If the caller clicks Ok, the dialog box disappears, and the agent can see the caller's entire desktop.
    • If the caller clicks Cancel, the Moderator Request Received dialog box disappears and the agent cannot see the caller's desktop.

CAUTION:  If the caller closes the eCollaboration cobrowser, the Web collaboration session ends. Instead, the caller should minimize the cobrowser if it is not intended to be part of the presentation.
