Configuring the Siebel eCollaboration Server

After installing and setting up the eCollaboration server, you may need to change some of the properties that are defined in the server's config.properties file.

The config.properties file is located in the \eCollaboration\websurfer directory on each eCollaboration server. To modify an eCollaboration server's properties, edit the config.properties file in a text editor.

You can change the following properties:

  • DomainName. This property defines the domain name of the eCollaboration server. If you have changed the domain of the eCollaboration server, you must change this property value.
  • DefaultURL. This property lets you pick the initial URL that is displayed in the cobrowser's browsing area prior to loading the last page the caller was on. For faster network bandwidths, this page appears for microseconds and is never seen by either the caller or the agent. On slower networks, this page appears for a few seconds. The page appears based on network bandwidths, and not necessarily the speed at which the caller or agent is connected to the network.
  • Proxyset, proxyhost, and proxyport. Set these properties if you implement a proxy server configuration.
  • RecordURLs. This property allows you to toggle listing the URLs in a chat.
  • TruncateURLlen. Use this property to limit the number of characters for a URL in the chat. Set the property to TRUE to truncate the URL and set the TruncateURLlen to the number of characters that you want to be shown. If a URL is longer than the maximum length, it will be appended with ellipses. When you set the property to FALSE, TruncateURLlen is ignored.

NOTE:  You should not change other properties in the config.properties file that are not listed here.
