Tracking Activity Record

When the initial outbound wireless message is sent, a corresponding tracking activity record is created. The message text is copied to the Comments field for the tracking activity, and the activity ID of the dispatch activity is copied to the Description field for the tracking activity. For this tracking activity record:

  • The text in the Description field consists of A# plus the activity ID of the dispatch activity. For example, this text might be A#: 99-4CGJM, in which 99-4CGJM is the row ID of the dispatch activity.
  • The text in the Comments field consists of the message text from the outbound message.
  • The setting of the Status field is modified over time, as follows:
    • Initially, the status of the tracking activity is Sent.
    • If the outbound message is received by the recipient successfully, the status of the tracking activity is set to Alerted.
    • If the outbound message fails to reach the recipient for whatever reason, the status of the tracking activity is set to Delivery Failed.
