About Coordinated Universal Time and DB2 UDB for z/OS and OS/390
The Global Deployment Guide contains information on using Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). However, when installing and configuring UTC on DB2 UDB for z/OS and OS/390, you should consider the following:
- The UTC upgrader is not supported on DB2 for z/OS and OS/390.
You should configure UTC using a fresh database install only.
- The Siebel UTC implementation will only work if the system time that the database software is using is in UTC.
Any system or database parameter that implements a timezone other than UTC must remain at zero. The use of any other value is not supported, as it effectively returns the database configuration to a local timezone.
As an example, the z/OS or OS/390 system parameter called TIMEZONE can be set in the CLOCKxx member of SYS1.PARMLIB. For a correct Siebel UTC implementation, the value of this parameter must be zero, as reflected here: TIMEZONE W.00.00.00 /* GMT */
