About Terms Used in the Upgrade Guide

This guide follows several naming conventions:

  • DB2 refers to IBM DB2 UDB for z/OS.

    NOTE:  This version of the guide replaces the IBM DB2 UDB for z/OS and OS/390 naming convention with IBM DB2 UDB for z/OS.

  • Current release means the currently shipping release of the Siebel eBusiness applications.
  • Release 7.x refers collectively to all versions of Siebel 7 prior to Release 7.7, for example Release 7.0.4 or 7.5.3. See the Upgrade section in System Requirements and Supported Platforms on Siebel SupportWeb at https://ebusiness.siebel.com/supportweb/ for specific information on which release numbers are meant by Release 7.x.
  • Release 6.x refers collectively to all versions of Siebel 2000 that are supported in upgrade to Release 7.7 on DB2. Refer to the Upgrade section in System Requirements and Supported Platforms on Siebel SupportWeb for specific information on which release numbers are meant by Release 6.x.
  • The term Windows refers to all Microsoft Windows operating systems listed as supported for this release in System Requirements and Supported Platforms on Siebel SupportWeb.
  • The term UNIX refers to all forms of the UNIX operating system supported for this release in System Requirements and Supported Platforms on Siebel SupportWeb.
