About Tuning the Production Upgrade Scripts

Environments: Production environment only.

The Siebel Upgrade Tuner analyzes and eliminates SQL statements that do not affect any data. It also parallelizes table creation, table rebuilds, and index creation.

The scripts used to upgrade your Siebel Database are generic. They update your Siebel Database to support all Siebel applications' functionality. You can reduce downtime by tuning these scripts to optimize performance and to eliminate unneeded SQL statements.

The Siebel Upgrade Tuner is installed with the Siebel Server on Microsoft Windows and is used through a graphical user interface. The Siebel Upgrade Tuner does not run on the UNIX platform. To tune the production upgrade scripts for UNIX, you must first copy files to a Windows platform.

You can tune your production upgrade scripts at any time after upgrading the Siebel Database schema in your development environment.

You can run the Siebel Upgrade Tuner multiple times.
