Other Installation Requirements for the Cluster Server Feature

These are additional considerations when installing the Siebel Analytics Cluster Server feature.

• All Siebel Analytics Server and Cluster Controller computers participating in the cluster need to run identical versions of the Siebel Analytics software.
• All computers participating in the cluster need to be within the same domain and on the same LAN subnet. Geographically separated computers are not supported.
• If data source names (DSN) are used in the connection pools, these DSN should point to the same data source on each of the Siebel Analytics Servers that participate in the cluster. That is, the connection pool DSN should be the same on each Siebel Analytics Server node in the cluster.
• When configuring the cluster, configure one repository first, and then copy it to the other Siebel Analytics Servers participating in the cluster.
• The clock on each server participating in a cluster must be kept in synchronization. Out-of-sync clocks can skew some cluster-related reporting.

  To keep the server clocks in sync:

  • On Windows, use a software synchronization program.
  • On UNIX, use a time daemon such as NTP.
