Administering Catalog Items


You administer shared catalog folders through the Manage Catalog page of Siebel Analytics Web.

For information about changing permissions to a catalog item, see About Setting Permissions.

To display the shared catalog folders

  1. In Siebel Answers, click the Admin hyperlink.
  2. Click the Manage Analytics Catalog hyperlink.
  3. Click the Shared Folders link.

To create a new folder

To take ownership of an item

  1. Navigate to the item.
  2. Click the Properties icon for the item.
  3. The Item Properties page appears.

  4. If you have the appropriate authority, you can take ownership of the item or folder by clicking either the:

To rename a folder or an item

  1. Navigate to the folder that you want to rename.
  2. Click the Rename icon for the folder.
  3. In the New Caption box, type a new name.
  4. Click the Rename button.

To delete a folder or an item

  1. Navigate to the folder that you want to delete.
  2. Click the Delete icon for the folder.
  3. The Confirm Item Deletion page appears. When deleting shared folders or items, be aware that other users who have added shared items to their personal dashboards will no longer have access to them.

  4. To confirm the delete, click Yes.

To show hidden items

  1. In Siebel Answers, click the Admin hyperlink.
  2. Click the Manage Analytics Catalog hyperlink.
  3. Select the Show Hidden Items check box the bottom of the page.
  4. This allows you to see the following hidden items:

NOTE:  The availability of the Show Hidden Items check box is controlled by the See Hidden Items privilege. For more information, see Default Privilege Assignments.
