Introduction

This guide will help you to configure and administer the Siebel Analytics Web components of Siebel Analytics Stand-Alone and Siebel Analytics applications.

Read this chapter to decide whether this guide is appropriate for your job role, find out if there are any particular areas of expertise you need to understand this book, and learn where you can go to find other Siebel Systems resources.

Although job titles and duties at your company may differ from those listed in the following table, the audience for this guide consists primarily of employees in these categories:

Siebel Application Administrators

Persons responsible for planning, setting up, and maintaining Siebel applications.
Siebel Application Developers

Persons who plan, implement, and configure Siebel applications, possibly adding new functionality.
Siebel System Administrators

Persons responsible for the whole system, including installing, maintaining, and upgrading Siebel applications.

Intended users of this document include Webmasters and other administrators for the Siebel Analytics Web environment (referred to as Siebel Analytics Web administrators), and managers who are responsible for the installation, development, and system administration of decision support applications.

This guide assumes that you are knowledgeable in the areas of Siebel Analytics software, Web-based applications, general Internet infrastructure and Web design (including HTML and XML), decision support systems, and your operating system environment (Windows or UNIX).

Although as an administrator you might sometimes perform end-user procedures, this guide only covers administrator procedures. End-user procedures for Siebel Analytics Web are documented in Siebel Analytics User Guide.
