NT Server Setup
This section contains instructions on how to set up the NT server for use with MSMQ. Note that the steps below apply to Windows NT installations only. Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2000 Advanced Server both install MSMQ automatically.
NT Server Setup Prerequisites
Before using the configuration steps below, install Windows NT Option Pack for NT Server and restart the machine.
To set up the MSMQ Primary Enterprise Controller (PEC)
- Choose Start > Programs > Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack Setup.
- Choose Add/Remove Components.
- Click Microsoft Message Queue, uncheck all other options, and click Next.
- Click Primary Enterprise Controller to install MSMQ Server.
- Specify a name for the Enterprise to be created, such as Siebel.
- Specify the site to be created, such as Sales.
- Leave all other default MSMQ parameters as is.
- Click Connected Network as the machine on which MSMQ PEC is installed.
To set up the MSMQ Client
- Choose Start > Programs > Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack Setup.
- Choose Add/Remove Components.
- Click Microsoft Message Queue, uncheck all other options, and click Next.
- Click Independent Client and then click Site Controller as the machine on which MSMQ PEC is installed.
