Procedures for Setting Up Service Support


Follow these procedures to set up service support.

To create a service activity template

  1. Navigate to Site Map > Application Administration > Activity Templates.
  2. Create an activity template.
  3. For information on creating activity templates, see Field Service Activities.

  4. In the activity template's Type field, select Service Request.
  5. Click the Service Details view tab.
  6. Create a new service detail record.
  7. Enter values for the required fields.
  8. Click one of the four subview tabs, as needed:
  9. Create a new record in the subview.
  10. Enter values for the required fields.

To set up service metrics

  1. Navigate to Site Map > Service Administration > Service Metrics.
  2. Create a new service metric record.
  3. Enter a name for the metric.

NOTE:  Service metrics are named in the Service Metrics list, but they are defined in detail in the Entitlements screen. See To define entitlement template metrics. After entitlements and service metrics have been defined, you can associate an entitlement with a service request. See To select an entitlement for a service request.
