Creating a Sales Hierarchy
As an administrator, you can create one or more sales hierarchies for your organization. For example, you might have a direct hierarchy which includes the sales force, and another overlay hierarchy for product marketing and product specialists.
To create a sales hierarchy
- From the application-level menu, choose View > Site Map > Incentive Compensation Sales Hierarchies Administration > Sales Hierarchy Definition.
- In the Sales Hierarchy Definition list, click New.
- In the new record, complete the Name field.
- (Optional) Complete the Organization, Evaluation Sequence, and Credit Validation Rules fields.
The following table describes the fields.
Field Comments Credit Validation Rules Select the validation rules for validating credit assignments. For more information, see Sales Crediting. Evaluation Sequence Indicates the sequence number for Sales Crediting to evaluate the crediting rules. For more information, see Sales Crediting. Name Name of the new sales hierarchy. Organization Name of the organization that should have access to this sales hierarchy.
