Types of Personalization Rules
There are three types of personalization rules:
- Expressions. This rule type evaluates include and exclude expressions directly. Requires a name for the rule and the rule type. This is where you create a conditional expression to control the evaluation of the rule and the include and exclude expressions that control the display of content.
- Business Service. Invokes a business service method. Requires a name for the rule, the rule type, a conditional expression, a business service name, a business service method, and a business service context.
If the Business Service rule type returns a property set with either InclusionExpr or ExclusionExpr, the property set is appended to the business component search specification. Additionally, a business service can set dynamic profile attributes that can later be used to build inclusion and exclusion expressions.
- Invoke Method. Invokes a method on a business component. Requires a name for the rule, the invoke method context, the rule type, a conditional expression, and a method name.
