Creating a New Auction

The Create New Auction process is a multistep process for a global or catalog administrator. You create a new auction from the Catalog Administration screen.

To create a new auction

  1. Navigate to the Catalog Administration screen.
  2. Click the hyperlink for the catalog in which you want to create the auction.

    3. The Categories screen appears.

  3. In the Categories list, select the category for the auction.
  4. Click the Auctions tab and click New.

    5. The Select Categories screen displays.

  5. To add the auction to an additional category, select the category from the Categories list and click Select.

    6. The category is added to the Selected Auction Categories screen.

    NOTE:  To add more than one category, press CTRL while you are selecting the categories.

  6. To select a subcategory, click the + to expand the category and display the subcategories, and then check the subcategory you want and click Select.

    7. The subcategory is added to the Selected Categories list.

  7. Click Continue.

    8. The Create Auction wizard appears.

NOTE:  You can make eAuction wizards faster by releasing the eAuction SmartScripts. From the application-level menu, choose View > Site Map > SmartScripts Administration > Scripts. Click Query, type eAuction* in the Name field, and then click Go. Click the menu button and select Release.
