Options for Installing Workshop 10.2
Workshop and WebLogic Portal users have the following choices for installing
Workshop 10.2.
Users who already have WebLogic Portal 10.0 installed and
are trying to install WebLogic Portal 10.2, must run the Workshop 10.2 standard
installer to install Workshop 10.2 and WebLogic Portal 10.2 into a new BEA_HOME.
New Workshop users must run the Workshop 10.2 standard
installer to install Workshop 10.2 into a new BEA_HOME.
Existing Workshop 10.1 users must run the Workshop 10.2
standard installer to install Workshop 10.2 into a new BEA_HOME. Installing
Workshop 10.2 into an existing BEA_HOME containing Workshop 10.1 is not supported.
Existing Workshop 10.0 users may install Workshop 10.2 into
an existing BEA_HOME containing Workshop 10.0 and WebLogic Server 10.0 should
take the following into account:
- If Workshop 10.0 MP1 and WebLogic Server 10.0 MP1 are already installed,
users may run the Workshop 10.2 standard installer to install Workshop
10.2 into the same BEA_HOME.
- If Workshop 10.0 and WebLogic Server 10.0 GA are installed, users must
run the WebLogic Server 10.0 MP1 upgrade installer or Smart Update to upgrade
WebLogic Server 10.0 GA to WebLogic Server 10.0 MP1 in that BEA_HOME prior
to installing Workshop 10.2 into the same BEA_HOME.
- Windows users may launch the new IDE installation via the new WorkSpace
Studio shortcut that will appear in the Start Menu.
- It is recommended that once both Workshop 10.0 and Workshop 10.2 are
installed in the same BEA_HOME, that users do not uninstall Workshop 10.0.
If this uninstall is performed users may see exceptions in their log and
will not be able to access their Configuration and Plugin Details from
the About Screen in the IDE. This can be resolved by launching WorkSpace
Studio from the command line with the -clean option from the <BEA_HOME>/workSpaceStudio_1.1/workSpaceStudio/
directory.
