Adding an Identifier

Providers (Businesses) and tModels share as a property an identifier container. Identifiers are special types of tModels. Unlike Categories, identifiers do not signify a quality which can be applied to what a record represents. Nor do they signify a more general classification under which the actor or service which a record represents can be grouped. Identifiers, like tax numbers, are special assigned handles.

To Add an Identifier...

  1. Navigate to the Identifiers tab.

    1. After logging in click the Publish tab.

    2. Click the Publish link in the menu.

    3. In the left hand navigation panel locate the record to which you wish to add identifiers. Its node is identified by default name. Clicking the node loads the Edit record page.

    4. On the right side of the page, click the Identifiers tab. It is usually somewhere in the middle of the right side tabs.

  2. Click the Add identifier button.

  3. The Identifiers table loads and beneath it the Taxonomy list tree. Select taxonomies to be displayed; Enterprise Taxonomies, All taxonomies... except system ones, All taxonomies... including system ones.

  4. Click the node for the desired taxonomy. Key name and Key value edit boxes load.

  5. Enter the Key name and Key value strings in the appropriate edit boxes.

  6. Click the Add category icon. The one with the dotted arrows to the right of the edit boxes. The identifier is added to the Identifiers table.

  7. Click the Save changes button at the bottom of the page. The new identifier is written to the record in the registry.
