Simple Search for Endpoints

Endpoints record locations where you can actually invoke a service instance. They further record properties and aspects that describe the instance, whether it is in Compliance with WS-I, the state of its availability, which serialization and transport protocols it uses.

To Search for Endpoints...

  1. Click the Search tab in the upper left corner of the console.

  2. Under the Search column click the Endpoints link. This will load the Search endpoints Control.

  3. Specify any of nine search properties grouped as common, operational or technical.

This search control can be customized. The properties presented below may not accurately match those in your console.

    Common properties

    • Usage - A classification system showing publishers' usage intentions for this endpoint.

    • Compliance - The endpoints should comply with Web Service Interoperability (WS-I) profiles.

    Operation properties

    • Availability - A classification system showing the state of an endpoint's availability.

    • Status - A classification system showing the publisher's declared status for the endpoint.

    • Keywords - A classification system in which the KeyName (left field) represents a naming or value space and the KeyValue (right field) represents a value in that space.

    Technical properties

    • Local Name - the local part of a Qualified name of the endpoint.

    • Namespace - the namespace part of the Qualified name of the endpoint.

    • Protocol - A classification system indicating the messaging protocol used by the binding behind an endpoint.

    • Transport - A classification system indicating the transport layer specified by a binding behind an endpoint.

These are the default search fields. The console you work with may have been customized to limit them or to include additional ones.

  4. Click the Find button. This loads the Endpoints Default view.

To Change the View

Simply select the desired view in the Result view list box. The default view options include Default, Operational and Technical. Other views can be added.
