Creating Transactional and Data Warehouse Database Connections
Follow this procedure to create the transactional and data warehouse database connections. To create transactional and data warehouse database connections
- Launch the DAC client.
- Click Setup on the toolbar, and then click the Database Connections tab.
- In the Edit subtab, enter the following:

Logical Name |
Logical name for the database connection. |
Type |
Database functional type. Possible values are: - Source
- Warehouse
- Informatica Repository
- DAC Repository
- Other

Connection Type |
Type of database. Possible values are: - Oracle (OCI8)
- Oracle (Thin)
- DB2
- DB2-390
- MSSQL
- Teradata

Database Name |
Name of database. |
Table Owner |
Valid database user. |
Table Owner Password |
Valid database user password. |
Max Num Connections |
Maximum number of database connections this connection pool can contain. For information about determining how to set this value, see Determining the Number of Transactional and Data Warehouse Database Connections. |
DB Host |
Machine name where the database resides. |
Port |
Port number where the database listens. |
- Click Test Connection to make sure the connection works.
