This chapter describes Forecast Approval Alert configuration.
Alerts can be configured through the RPAS Configuration Tools with the alert category of FORECAST_APPROVAL. The alert expressions require familiarity with the RPAS rule functions. Registering an alert with the alert category of FORECAST_APPROVAL allows RDF to use the alert expression during the batch forecasting process to determine if a time series is automatically approved.
When an RDF domain is built or patched, all of the GA approval alerts and custom alerts under the FORECAST_APPROVAL category are collected together to produce an approval alert dimension. This is an RDF internal dimension. You can open a Forecast Administration workbook to enable or clear approval alerts per final level. The enabled approval alert is added into the available lists for Default Approval Method (in Forecast Administration) and the Approval Method Override (in Forecast Maintenance). The disabled approval alert is then removed from the available lists.
Note: Registering approval alerts without using RPAS Configuration Tools is no longer supported. |
To upgrade to RDF from a earlier version than 16.0. these steps must be performed in the upgraded 16.0 or later configuration:
If it does not exist in the configuration, add the FORECAST_APPROVAL alert category.
Add the custom approval alert under the FORECAST_APPROVAL category.
Build or patch the domain.
Enable or clear the approval alerts per the final level.
When this category of alert is registered, the pick lists for Default Approval Method (in Forecast Administration) and the Approval Method Override (in Forecast Maintenance) are updated to include the label of the alert.
Note that the label of the alert when displayed in the list has certain special characters replaced with a space. These characters are:
comma
colon
right parenthesis
left parenthesis
You can select the alert for any product/location.
