Creating and Configuring an Oracle Database on Unix

This section describes how to create and configure the AquaLogic Interaction portal database on Oracle and Unix.

Verify that the Oracle environment variables are properly set.
For details, see Oracle Environment Variables .
Copy the SQL scripts from the AquaLogic Interaction installation directory to your Oracle server.
- For Oracle 9i, the ALI installer creates the SQL scripts in the following directories:
  - install_dir/ptportal/6.5/sql/oracle_unix9.2
  - install_dir/aluidirectory/1.0/sql/oracle
- For Oracle 10g, the ALI installer creates the SQL scripts in the following directories:
  - install_dir/ptportal/6.5/sql/oracle_unix10
  - install_dir/aluidirectory/1.0/sql/oracle
Configure the portal database, tablespace, and user.

Create the portal schema and initialize the portal database.
