New Features

Enterprise Social Interaction Enhancements

AquaLogic Interaction 6.5 provides features that enable customers to build social, interactive applications that increase the transparency of the day-to-day operations of their employees.

Automatic and Integrated Friendly (Human-Readable) URLs

AquaLogic Interaction 6.5 provides clean, human-readable URLs that users can bookmark or type into the browser address bar. Developers can reference the friendly URLs (e.g.: http://myportal.com/portal/server.pt/community/my_community/community_page/) instead of generating opener links.

Friendly URLs can contain object IDs so that they are unaffected by object name modifications. However, friendly URLs do not require the object ID, so they are easy for users to type into the address bar.

Friendly URLs are visible when browsing:

Note: The URLs supported in previous version are still supported in this version.

Adaptive Layouts for UI Customization

AquaLogic Interaction 6.5 provides support for adaptive layouts, which enable customers to easily customize the user interface for AquaLogic Interaction. Adaptive layouts are simple XHTML templates that use adaptive tags that AquaLogic Interaction interprets to render the UI. Experience definitions enable customers to define which adaptive page layouts to use. Customers can now modify the majority of the AquaLogic Interaction UI without having to: use an IDE, recompile, or redeploy AquaLogic Interaction. Customers can move from developing layouts in HTML to deploying them in AquaLogic Interaction with minimal effort. The following adaptive layouts are available:

Updated Browsing User Interface

AquaLogic Interaction 6.5 provides a significantly improved browsing UI. The default look and feel has been modernized and to more closely align with our recent PEP (Pathways, Ensemble, Pages) products. The following areas have been heavily modified:
