An Auditing provider collects, stores, and distributes information about operating requests and the outcome of those requests for the purposes of non-repudiation. You can configure multiple Auditing providers in a security realm, but none are required. The default security realm does not include an Auditing provider.

WebLogic Server offers the following types of Auditing providers:

The WebLogic Auditing provider is the standard Auditing provider for the WebLogic Security Framework. Note that the Administration Console refers to the WebLogic Auditing provider as the Default Auditor.
The Realm Adapter Auditing provider is for use with Compatibility security realms.

You can also configure WebLogic Server to audit configuration actions. See Enable configuration auditing.

To configure an Auditing provider:

If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
In the left pane, select Security Realms and click the name of the realm you are configuring (for example, myrealm).
Select Providers > Auditing and click New.
The Create a New Auditing Provider page appears.
In the Name field, enter a name for the Auditing provider.
From the Type drop-down list, select the type of the Auditing provider and click OK.
Select Providers > Auditing and click the name of the new Auditing provider to complete its configuration.
On the Configuration page for the Auditing provider, set the desired values on the Common and Provider-Specific tabs.
Click Save to save your changes.
In the Change Center, click Activate Changes and then restart WebLogic Server.
