Installing Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse

There are three ways to install the Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse. You can:

(1) use the Eclipse update manager

(2) download and unzip the OEPE plugins directly into an existing Eclipse installation (See the OEPE download page)

(3) download and unzip an "all in one" kit, which includes Eclipse along with the OEPE plugins (See the OEPE download page)

Software Requirements

To install OEPE using methods (1) or (2) above, you must have existing installations of either:

Eclipse 3.3 "Europa", package Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers (See the Europa download page)

or

Eclipse 3.4 "Ganymede", package Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers (See the Ganymede download page)

Using the Eclipse Update Manager

For Eclipse 3.3 "Europa"

1. Select Help > Software Updates > Find and Install.
2. Select Search for new features to install.
3. Click New Remote Site.
4. Enter a name (for example, OEPE Update) and the URL http://download.oracle.com/otn_software/oepe/europa.
5. Click Finish.
6. Complete the wizard to install the plugins.

For Eclipse 3.4 "Ganymede"

1. Select Help > Software Updates > Available Software (tab) > Add Site (button).
2. In the Add Site dialog, enter http://download.oracle.com/otn_software/oepe/ganymede, and click OK.
3. Place a checkmark next to Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse, confirm that the four sub-components are all checked, and click Install.
