This section describes terms that describe the report content included in the Discoverer reports chapters.

Attributes

Attributes serve as the row headings on a report. Typically, they are the dimension attributes, which determine the aggregation level of the report output. The Folder/Item column describes to which folders and items in the business area the attributes are related.

Metrics

Metrics serve as the columns on a report. Typically, they are the reporting elements that calculate values by combining facts or attributes with various analytical and aggregate functions. The Folder/Item column for metrics contains the metrics that are defined in the EUL. This column documents to which folders and items in the business area the metrics are related. The Derivation column contains values for the metrics that are defined as workbook calculations and documents how the metrics are calculated.

Filter Elements

Filter elements serve as the criteria that restrict data to a desired subset. They can also be prompts, which are dynamic filters that ask users to select filter criteria at the report run-time.Additional FeaturesThis area includes any additional analysis features on the report, such as drilling and sorting:

Page-by

group by that particular field and insert a new page upon change of the field value.

Drillable Hierarchy

Hierarchical structure that organizes data in summary form, for example, days roll up to months, months roll up to quarters, and quarters roll up to Fiscal Year.

Sort

Ascending or descending sort of the data.

Each subject area will deliver one workbook, consisting of worksheets, one for each report. The report names in this section are listed in the format of [workbook name] - [worksheet name].

The Campaign Summary report is a marketing summary report that details marketing program and activity performance. Marketing activity performance is analyzed in three ways: by the marketing program, the channel through which the campaign took place, and finally by the audience it had targeted.
