Configure network communications for the Controller

Before you begin

Review Configure and manage the Controller.


The Controller uses a listen address and port to communicate with various Agents. You configure the network settings initially when you create the Controller using the WLOC Configuration Wizard, as described in Configuring the Controller and Agents.

To configure the network communications for the Controller:

  1. Access the Controller page in one of the following ways:
    • Click the Controller tab in the WLOC navigation bar.
    • Click the Home tab in the WLOC navigation bar and click Controller under Manage Configuration.
  2. Click the Networking tab on the Controller page.
  3. Modify the following network settings, as required:
    Field Description

    Host

    Host name of the machine that iis running the Controller.

    Console Port

    Port address on which the WLOC Administration Console can be accessed.

    Console Secure Port

    Port address on which the WLOC Administration Console can be accessed for secure connections.

    Console Mode

    Mode that can be used to access the WLOC Administration Console. Valid values include Secure, Unsecure, or Both.

    JMX RemotePort

    Port address for JMX remote operations.

    Adjudication Timeout

    Maximum amount of time to wait before adjudications (or approvals) time out.

    Port

    Port address on which the Controller can be accessed.

    Secure Port

    Port address on which the Controller can be accessed for secure communications.

    Use Secure Connections

    Flag that specifies whether to use a secure connection when communicating with the Agent.

    Reconnect Attempts

    Maximum number of times that the Controller should attempt to contact an Agent.

    Heartbeat Interval

    Time interval that the Controller uses to determine whether an Agent is reachable.

    If you modify any of the network settings, you must shut down and restart the Controller. For more information, see Shut down the Controller and Starting and Stopping the Controller and Agents, respectively.

  4. Click Save.
    The changes are saved and the following message confirmation is displayed:
    Settings updated successfully
