Run actions

Before you begin

Review Define and assign policies.


You can configure WLOC to run an action automatically when a service violates a service level agreement, as described in Assign policies to services. There are times, however, when you may want to run an action manually.

Note: You cannot run a deployment action manually (for example, StartServiceAction).

To run an action:

  1. Access the Actions page in one of the following ways:
    • Click the Policies tab in the WLOC navigation bar, click the Definitions tab, and click the Actions tab.
    • Click the Home tab in the WLOC navigation bar and click Actions under Manage Policies.

    The list of currently defined actions is displayed in the Actions table.

  2. To filter the list of actions, enter Column=Value in the text box and click Filter.

    Column specifies the table column name on which you want to filter. Value specifies a string value on which to filter the contents. To clear the filter, click Clear Filter.

  3. Select the check box next to the action that you want to run.

    You can run only one action at a time.

  4. Click Run Action.
  5. Set the following fields, as required.
    Field Description

    Service Name

    Name of the service to run the action against.

    Process Group

    Name of the process group in the service to run the action against.

    Process Instance

    Name of the process instance to run the action against.

  6. Click Finish.

    The action request is processed and the following confirmation message is displayed:

    Request to run action or pipeline sent successfully
