Create an Agent binding

You create new Agents using the WLOC Configuration Wizard, as described in Configuring the Controller and Agents. After you create and configure an Agent, as described in Configure and manage Agents, you need to register it with the Controller by creating an Agent binding.

To create an agent binding:

  1. Access the Controller page in one of the following ways:
    • Click the Controller tab in the WLOC navigation bar.
    • Click the Home tab in the WLOC navigation bar and click Controller under Manage Configuration.
  2. Click the Agent Bindings tab on the Controller page.

The list of currently defined Agent bindings is displayed in the Agent Bindings table.

  3. Click New on the Agent Bindings page.
  4. Enter the following information for the new Agent binding:
    Field Description

    Name

Name of the Agent binding. You cannot modify the name of the Agent binding once it is defined.

    Description

Description of the Agent binding. This field is optional.

    Host

DNS name or IP address of the computer on which the Agent is running.

    Port

Port address on which the Agent communicates with the WLOC Administration Console.

    Secure Port

Port address for secure communication with the WLOC Adminstration Console. WLOC supports Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) communication.

    Password

Password for the Agent binding. The password is used to authenticate the Agent with the Controller. It must match the password configured for the Agent.

    Confirm Password

    Re-enter the password.

    Initial State

Select the initial state for the Agent from the drop-down list. Valid states include Enabled, Connected, and Disconnected. For more information about Agent states, see Manage Agent states.

  5. Click Finish.
The Agent binding appears in the Agent Bindings table and the following confirmation message is displayed:
