- Setting a job to run periodically will set to default of minutes with no value. If user clicks finish it will set the job to run every 1 minute. (Issue# 69632)
- Attempting to edit the user profile community opens the user object editor instead. (Issue# 67732)
Workaround:
Use the User Profile Manager available from the Administrative Portal.
- Documentum mirrored references should be based on DSID and not CrwlrID. (Issue #51250)
- In some cases, content crawled in from Oracle-BEA AquaLogic Publisher may not display properly when viewed from the Directory. (issue #68077)
Workaround:
Republish the item, manually publish the document to the Directory, or use the web content crawler to crawl Publisher content instead.
- Opening multiple .html files in the Directory, which were uploaded by content upload, results in the first file opening correctly, but any subsequent .html files opening as the first file. (Issue #69975)
- It is not possible to turn off object IDs in the friendly URLs. (Issue #69511)
- Any community or page with more than one consecutive period in the name will cause a 404 error. (Issue #69556)
- With Friendly URLs disabled, attemping to use the sorting drop-down in the Directory to alter the sorting arrangement results in an error. (Issue #69777)
- Housekeeping job removes values of property that was not deleted. (Issue #69706)
- "Contact Information" and "Position Information" headers do not display in user's preferred language for the "View User Profile" section under "My Account". (Issue #69736)
- In 6.5, there is no "Edit Preferences" (pencil icon) drop-down list in the portlet header. (Issue #69693)
- Portal does not serve up cached copy of portlet even though it finds it in the cache. (Issue #69710)
- There is a cross-site scripting vulnerability. (Issue #69340)
- Under Advanced Editor - cannot add portlet to top right corner on a three-column page. (Issue #69501)
- Siteminder SSO integration - login after portal session timeout throws a NullReferenceException and SSO login fails. (Issue #69668)
- When an administrative folder containing users is copied, all objects except for users will be copied. There is no warning or error message. Users cannot be copied. (Issue# 20116)
- When using an invitation that has a default profile set to Assistive Technology mode, the user may or may not get an Assistive Technology UI. (Issue# 36240)
- Submission of files using Oracle WebCenter Content Service for Windows Files does not work when using Netscape 7.1 in Assistive Technology mode. (Issue# 36907)
- 508: My Page: Edit Page: Mandatory portlets not listed. (Issue# 42952)
- The General Information Portlet in users' profiles may not be visible in 508 mode. (Issue# 44996)
- In 508 mode, the RSS Community Reader portlet having multiple feeds will not be refreshed with the new content when a new feed is selected from the drop-down list. (Issue# 67499)
Workaround:
Refresh the page.
- Under certain conditions, if two automation servers share the same administrative folder, contention for the jobs within the folder can lead to the failure of one of the automation servers. (Issue# 63240)
- A SharePoint content crawler may fail to import all SharePoint artifacts on configurations under high load (for example, systems with multiple Oracle products installed on a single server). (Issue# 63606)
Workaround:
Install the components on multiple servers or reduce the maximum indexing threads in the crawler settings to a value <3.
- If a community manager does not have the right to Select a portlet on a page (but can Read), and the manager moves that portlet, that portlet will disappear from the community. (Issue# 63063)
- When editing a community page that contains portlets that have been inherited from a template, the "Remove" link for the portlets which are inherited through the page template will be displayed even though these portlets cannot be removed. (Issue# 66123)
- The old portal configuration management tool is not removed on upgrades from 6.0 or 6.1. Using this tool will cause a "ptconfig.exe Error in Java launcher. Cannot find main Java class com/plumtree/configmanager/Runner" error. (Issue# 67318)
Workaround: Use the new Configuration Manager web UI instead.
- In the Configuration Manager, the settings for administrative credentials for the Notification Service are not optional, even though they are listed as such. (Issue# 67758)
- The default timezone offset setting of -1 should be used in the Configuration Manager, as this sets Oracle WebCenter Interaction to use the timezone of the server. (Issue# 67809)
- The Phone Home feature in the Configuration Manager is not supported for use by customers unless directed to do so by customer support. (Issue #68098)
- LDAP and Active Directory synchronization jobs should not be run concurrently on DB2. (Issue# 67400)
- RSS Crawler: RSSContentTypesAndProperties.pte does not create Feed Title property. (Issue# 67520)
- Legacy items with status=1 in PTCARDSTATUS and with string date format throw exceptions and do not get reindexed. (Issue# 66653)
- When crawling documents into folders with filters and selecting both "Refresh" and "Try to Sort into Additional Folders" in the "When visiting previously imported documents" section, the taxonomization does not work. If Refresh is not selected, sorting works. (Issue# 54478)
- A core dump in the middle of the crawl will render that crawl unrunnable. (Issue# 59450)
Workaround:
To make this crawl runnable again delete the corresponding lock record from the ptobjectlocks table in the database. DELETE FROM PTOBJECTLOCKS WHERE OBJECTID=crawlid AND CLASSID=602. The crawler ID comes from the crawler properties page and the class ID for a running crawler instance is 602.
- "Show only item type" drop-down list gets wrapped when the browser width is not wide enough. (Issue# 67759)
- The Online Help in Assistive Technology mode is in English only, regardless of the user's locale settings. (Issue# 37245)
- Saving the intrinsic iPhone Experience Rule causes the sub-expressions to be duplicated. (Issue #70094)
- Flyout Editor changes vertical height when browsing folders. (Issue# 66697)
- Misspelling portal/server.pt on Win/.NET may force Oracle WebCenter Interaction into a redirection loop. (Issue# 67810)
Workaround:
Change the default value in friendlyurl.xml to .pt/.
- FriendlyURLs cause GetCurrentUserCachedSubPortalInfo() to return the wrong value when switching between communities. (Issue #70162)
- Some friendlyURL settings in WCI 10.3.0 may interfere with Publisher 6.5. (Issue # 70400)
Workaround: comment out the search, mypage and community portions of FriendlyURLs.xml (PT_HOME/settings/portal/FriendlyURLs.xml). For example, to comment out the search portion:
<!--
<FriendlyURLMapping>
<key>search</key>
<classId>-25</classId>
</FriendlyURLMapping>
-->
- On AIX with WebSphere 6.1.0.13, you cannot stop/start the application via the Web Console UI. WebSphere modifies the object name when it registers it with the JMX server. Consequently applications which try to detect the existence of a registered name using the name they originally provided will fail since the registration is under a different name. See http://issues.apache.org/activemq/browse/SM-883. (Issue# 67368)
- LD_ASUME_KERNEL setting causes PTUPLOAD and PTWS services to fail. (Issue# 67578)
Workaround: Set LD_ASSUME_KERNEL parameter to 2.4.1 in wrapper.conf file.
- When starting Oracle WebCenter Interaction in an Oracle-BEA WebLogic 10 environment, the following error may be written to the log file: Failed to load servlet Class: com.plumtree.gateway.GatewayConfigServletIgnoring: unable to load class:java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.plumtree.gateway.GatewayConfigServlet at: weblogic.xml.schema.binding.util.ClassUtil.loadClass(ClassUtil.java:76)Failed to load servlet Class: com.plumtree.gateway.GatewayConfigServletIgnoring: unable to load class:java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.plumtree.gateway.GatewayConfigServlet at: weblogic.xml.schema.binding.util.ClassUtil.loadClass(ClassUtil.java:76) ****** Initializing filter BinaryGatewayFilter ******. This error can be ignored. (Issue# 66018)
- The dbupgradetool.bat may hang on duplicate records in the PTMYPAGEPREFS table. (Issue# 53509)
Workaround: Remove duplicate records before running the dbupgradetool.
- The installer may garble the names of the "Server Side Includes" and "Intern Data Connector" web extensions. You can use MetaEdit to change the name back to the original names. (Issue# 54147)
- On HP-UX, if you set the location where the installer unpacks files from /tmp to another location (this can be done by setting IATEMPDIR environment variable to a directory) the installer will still use approximately 90MB of space from /tmp. There is no workaround. Clear out at least 90MB of space from /tmp and shut down any processes on the server that may also be using space on /tmp before running installer. (Issue# 58874)
- Sometimes during re-installations of all Oracle WebCenter Interaction installer components, the installer will hang. The hang always occurs when the installer is performing post-installation steps deploying the Image Service. (Issue# 58954)
Workaround:
To locate the hanging process, run "ps ?eaf | grep jre142". This should show at least one process running jre142/bin/IA64N/java in your installation directory. Kill this process and let the installer run to completion. The installer will properly install everything except the Image Service. Run the installer again and choose only the "Image Service" for installation. The installer should run to completion without hanging and properly install the Image Service.
- Some products install conflicting versions of icu 3.0 into \Windows\system32. When conflicting versions of icu are loaded before the version distributed with the search client, the portal will fail to start up, and ptverify will report errors. (Issue# 56359)
Workaround: Search for and remove icu*30.dll from \Windows\system32. Products with known conflicts include Crystal Reports XI, WebEx, and possibly other web client software.
- The installer may take longer to complete the installation than indicated by the status bar. (Issue# 57235)
- Modifying a job's start time from a locale other than the one it was created under may cause the am/pm flag to revert back to its original setting. (Issue# 53502)
Workaround: Delete the job and re-create under the current user's locale.
- Attempting to rename a page and then browse for a portlet will cause the page name to revert to the original name. (Issue# 67451)
- If adaptive layouts are disabled on a page that previously used them, you might end up with a wide portlet in a narrow portlet region. Attempting to move the portlets using the Standard Page Editor in Internet Explorer will cause JavaScript error. (Issue# 66572)
Workaround: Use FireFox to modify the page layout or re-enable adaptive layouts to move the portlet.
- Adaptive layouts used in conjunction with legacy navigation schemes can cause JavaScript errors on My Pages and community pages when browsed with IE 7. (Issue# 66384)
Workaround:
Use the new adaptive layout menu framework to avoid this problem. Adaptive layouts come with a new drop-down menu framework that is lighter and faster than jsmenus.
- The new drop-down menus are only suitable for approximately 30 communities. Beyond this number, it becomes difficult to navigate the list. (Issue# 67540)
Workaround:
Replace the menus with custom menus, or use the leagacy drop-down menus.
- Default navigation toolbar has burn-through issues when opening drop-down lists. (Issue #69904)
- Importing migration packages is very slow when the Search Server is unavailable. (Issue# 66938)
- LDAP authentication source cannot be exported with custom groups mappings. (Issue# 59243)
- The content upload service requires the document repository service to be running before starting. (Issue# 56575)
- There is a leak in IE when calling setRefreshInterval() or refresh() on a portlet. There is no memory leak in Firefox when calling the same methods. (Issue# 62962)
Workaround:
Call PTPortlet.getPortletByID($$TOKEN$$).clearRefreshInterval(); before the call to setRefreshInterval.
- Content Crawler Editor, Advanced Settings page: Runtime Configuration is not maintained if you leave page and come back to it. (Issue# 57068)
- Cannot delete existing Directory folder description. (Issue# 55842)
Workaround: Only way to alter this value is to change it to another non-null string. Enter a space.
- If all nodes are down, opening a Content Crawler Editor takes a while. (Issue# 54973)
- Clicking "next" in the Job Histories Intrinsic Portlet in Low Bandwidth Portal mode refreshes the page but does not show you the next group of jobs. (Issue# 36378)
- Active Directory/LDAP authetication sources being created cannot be copied from one administrative folder to another. (Issue #69819)
- Unable to change any property values of the standard WCI user authentication source, "WebCenter Interaction Authentication Source". This error occurs if you try to edit any property, including security settings, of the standard WCI user auth source. (Issue #70156)
Workaround: Manually edit the DB.
- Delete Everyone READ from Administrative Resources folder and apply the security settings to all child objects. This operation causes portal startup error. (Issue# 58593)
- Using the "inline refresh" option in the gateway configuration of a web service that uses the Web Controls Consumer (WCC) will cause the portlet to fail. (Issue# 66408)
- In the User Information Property Map when using MS SQL Server, multi mapped properties values are displayed in separate rows in the mapping table. (Issue# 63807)
- Transformer/Tag Engine adds CSAPI JavaScript to wrong place if <head> tag has a JavaScript variable such as: var myVar = '<head>test</head>';. (Issue# 59707)
- Malformed URLs can cause exceptions when the portal tries to transform them, resulting in a crashed portal page. For example, a portlet with an href containing the following invalid URL (the port is in the wrong place) will cause a server error: http://people:80.bea.com/portal/server.pt/ . (Issue # 68200)
- The most recently dropped portlet in a portlet region is selected when trying to drag a mandatory portlet. This occurs only after dropping a portlet in the same region as the mandatory portlet. (Issue# 66758)
- Search fails to start if the cluster home is specified as the root of a NAS share. (Issue# 62397)
Workaround:
Create a subfolder under the root and use this as the cluster home.
- Copying a saved query portlet will unlink it from the original snapshot query. (Issue# 58282)
- After changing the search cluster contact node in the Search Service Manager, you must restart all Portal, Automation Server, and API Server instances in order for the new settings to take effect. (Issue# 55808)
- Search results for Oracle-BEA AquaLogic Publisher items no longer include the "View Associated Portlets and Communities" link. (Issue# 67227)
- User can see the cursor in the Search text box blinking through the drop-down menu. (Issue# 66908)
- Accent characters entered into in the "Search saved as:" name are not encoded properly and may appear with & and ; characters when displaying confirmation. (Issue# 67319)
- Clicking 'Create Page' link on a My Page or community page may create a warning message when using the Logging Spy utility. This error can be ignored. (Issue# 67707)
- Using the Experience Definition Editor may generate the following warning message in Logging Spy: "ExpListView::Getting unused properties not supported by model SelectPTObject ." This warning can safely be ignored. (Issue# 67755)
- PT_INTRINSICS.PT_OWNER_ID is allowed to be accessed in server api search code; doing so causes an error, as the value is valid only for the Oracle-BEA AquaLogic Pathways product. (Issue #70166)
- The JVM on HPUX-IA64 tends to aggressively consume and fragment memory. At the same time, the default kernel parameters limit the data segment size to 1GB by default. The combination of these factors can lead to out-of-memory errors. This can affect any Java process, particularly those which use the search client, which include Portal, Automation Server, Collaboration Server, and Oracle-BEA AquaLogic Publisher. We recommend increasing the maximum data segment size to at least 2GB. This can be done using the kctune or sam tools. For instance: /usr/sbin/kctune maxdsiz=2147483648. If memory usage continues to be a problem, it may be necessary to tune the Java heap parameters. In order to minimize heap fragmentation, it is best to set the initial and maximum heap parameters to the same value. For instance -Xms 320m -Xmx 320m. (Issue# 57256)
- The Search Server index directory and cluster request directory should be excluded from virus scanning, as indicated in product documentation. Under certain circumstances a node may crash if a virus scanner interferes with file I/O. If the cluster directory gets corrupted, the 6.5 version of examine archive can be used to test and repair it. To test the cluster directory, invoke "examinearchive -requests ". If this test shows errors in the cluster directory, invoke "examinearchive -repair -requests ". (Issue# 57858)
- The indexing pipeline can become deadlocked when multiple nodes are installed on the same windows box. Redeploying the nodes on separate boxes should resolve the issue. Symptoms: Crawls succeed but documents never become searchable. Diagnosis: 1) Crawl job logs will contain messages like the following: "FullySerializeCards caught an exception indexing cards in the property search collection: com.plumtree.server.marshalers.PTException: -2147204349 - Error in function PTIndexer.CommitAll (): -2147204349 - Failover failed -- no servers left to accept request." 2) Search Cluster Manager will show all nodes in "RUN", "STALL", or "RECOVER" state, not "OFFLINE" or "READONLY" 3) Search Server logs will contain tags with the following text: Index connection queue backlog exceeds maximum Analysis: The search cluster is in a deadlocked state where it cannot accept indexing requests. Queries are unaffected. The deadlock is due to contention over a lock file which one of the nodes is holding and not releasing. Resolution: The problem can be temporarily resolved by restarting the search nodes one at a time. When the node holding the lock is restarted, the lock will be released and indexing requests can be accepted once more. Following the node recovery, run Search Repair to resubmit any indexing requests that may have failed during the outage. (Issue# 56305)
- Sometimes sending an abort during a named restore puts the cluster in an unpredictable state. A soft-reset should be executed after initiating named restore. (Issue# 55035)
- By default, searches on properties with no value are returned as a "0". This can cause unexpected results when using ascending sorting. (Issue# 65273)
- An interruption in access to the cluster directory will cause search servers running on Windows to crash. On Unix, the servers will successfully transition to read-only, where they will remain until an administrator requests it to transition back using 'cadmin runlevel run'. (Issue# 63074)
- With SSO enabled, accessing a gatewayed URL in a new window will cause a redirect problem to occur and return a 401. (Issue# 66863)
- Deleting a lockbox and creating a new lockbox without finishing the delete will cause the deleted lockbox entries to remain in the database. To avoid the issue click "Finish" immediately after deleting a lockbox. Modifying the value of name in PTPROPERTIES can be safe as workaround if this problem has already been encountered. (Issue# 58057)
- The ptverify.sh / ptverify.bat script may give a false warning that Oracle WebCenter Interaction is unable to start when any custom tag library is loaded. (Issue# 66546)
- The Portal Diagnostic Tool will not work in Java when you create and register a custom tag library. (Issue# 53063)
- Reference-type properties are read-only in the User Profile Editor in Assistive Technology mode. (Issue# 36042)
- If the Search component is missing from the Oracle WebCenter Interaction license key, both the diagnostic tool and the application server will display a warning stating, "Missing, invalid, or expired license for AquaLogic Interaction Grid Search-6.1-Search. The search functionality has been disabled." This message can be ignored. If the Search component is missing from the AquaLogic Interaction key, Search will be limited to 2 nodes. (Issue# 60468)
- The diagnostic tool throws a taglib error; this does not affect Interaction functionality. (Issue #70103)
- If you change the HTTP Entry point from server.pt to .pt (like the RSS feed sample does), invitation URLs break. (Issue #70134)
- The placement of mandatory portlets does not adjust properly (does not maintain priority ordering) to page layout changes if using adaptive layouts. (Issue #70255)
- Reading a string field from an IPortalSearchResult converts a full width number to a half width number. The value is stored correctly in the DB, and is returned correctly using IDocumentProperties. (Issue# 51243)
