Important: Before you export objects, consider the following:
You must export dependent objects (for example, a system notification needs a rule and it might also include tasks or tips). When you select an object that has dependent objects, the dependent objects are automatically selected.
The HiPer Migration Utility only migrates the association between a tip and a system notification. Tips themselves must be migrated with the Portal Migration Utility. You must import the tips before you import the tip associations if you want to preserve the associations.
Tasks can only be migrated as dependencies of system notifications or task list templates.
Users cannot be migrated. You must reassociate users with system notifications after import.
To export HiPer objects from this system to another system:
Select Export and click Continue.
Select the objects you want to export:
Click Add next to the type of object you want to export.
Notes:
You cannot add tips. Tips are added as dependencies of system notifications.
You cannot add tasks. Tasks are added as dependencies of system notifications or task list templates.
In the dialog box, select the objects you want to add to the export package and click Finish.
Note: Any dependent objects are automatically selected.
The objects you select display under their appropriate object types. If the object is stored in a subfolder (for example, system notifications are stored in the System Notifications folder), the folder and path are listed. Any dependent objects are listed under the parent object. They are also listed under their appropriate object types, but their check boxes are disabled (since you cannot remove a dependent object).
When you select an object, the object type is automatically expanded. To expand another object list, clicknext to the object type. To collapse an object list, clicknext to the object type.
To remove a selected object, select the
object and click Remove next to
its object type.
Note: You cannot remove dependent
objects (their check boxes are disabled). If you remove a parent object,
the dependent objects are automatically removed (unless the objects are
still dependencies for other selected objects).
When you are done selecting objects, click OK.
After the migration file is created, you are asked if you want to download the file. This is the only way to download the migration file; if you do not download it now, you will have to recreate it. After you have downloaded the file, click Finish.
