Installing BEA WebLogic JRockit 1.4.1 SDK

The following instructions show you how to install BEA WebLogic JRockit 1.4.1 SDK.

Obtain the Installation Files

You can install WebLogic JRockit 1.4.1 SDK either from .zip files (on Windows) or from .tar files (on Linux), which you can download from the WebLogic JRockit 1.4.1 download page From this page, download the version of WebLogic JRockit 1.4.1 SDK appropriate for your operating system and platform (for information on platform support for this version of WebLogic JRockit SDK, please see BEA WebLogic JRockit 1.4.1 SDK Platform Support).

• Windows 32-bit: jrockit-j2sdk1.4.1_04-win32.zip
• Windows 64-bit:jrockit-j2sdk1.4.1-win64.zip
• Linux 32-bit: jrockit-j2sdk1.4.1_04-linux32.tar.gz
• Linux 64-bit: jrockit-j2sdk1.4.1-linux64.tar.gz

Install the Application

To install the SDK, do one of the following:

• Windows: Use WinZip or other zip file extraction tool to unzip the files into the appropriate directory.
• Linux: Extract the files into the appropriate directory by using the following command:

  tar -zxvf jrockit[version].tar.gz

  For example:

  tar -zxvf jrockit-j2sdk1.4.1_04-linux32.tar.gz

Special Note About Root Access

If you choose to install the JRockit Java 2 Runtime Environment into a system-wide location such as /usr/local, you must first become the root in order to gain the necessary permissions. If you do not have root access, simply install the JRockit Java 2 Runtime Environment into your home directory or a subdirectory to which you have permission to write.
