We have
added the following major enhancements to the BEA TUXEDO system:
- Additional cross-domains functionality: advertising or suspending services
based on network connection status; use of alternate remote domains when the primary
domain is unavailable; enhanced load balancing and request processing.
- OpenVMS platform support. A new user's
guide discusses configuration and application development on the OpenVMS platform.
- Asynchronous unsolicited message notification mechanism, similar to
SIGNAL-based notification on Windows 95 and Windows NT. This feature applies to
Workstation and native clients using C language bindings.
The BEA TUXEDO/TOP END service
gateway connects the BEA TUXEDO system with TOP END systems, allowing applications
that run on one system to invoke services that reside on the other.
Security enhancements:
56-bit link-level encryption and 30-character application password.
