Manage queue messages

Use this page to create new messages, delete selected messages, move messages to another queue, export message contents to another file, import message contents from another, or drain all the messages from the queue.

To manage a queue's messages:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the Administration Console, navigate to the queue resource that you want to configure:
  3. Click the Monitoring > Messages tab to display the queue's message management options:
    • Produce - This page produces one JMS message. You can specify header and body content when creating the message, which will then be produced on the current queue.
    • View Contents - Use this page to view the contents of a JMS message.
    • Delete - Use this page to delete JMS messages.
    • Move - Use this page to move JMS messages from one location to another
    • Import - Use this page to import JMS messages.
    • Export - Use this page to export JMS messages.
    • Drain - Use this page to drain (delete) all JMS messages from a queue.

  4. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
    Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
