Access EJB resources using JCOM

Before you begin

This is a subtask that is part of the main task for creating a security policy. Start with the main task: Create security policies

Security policies for EJB resources accessed through JCOM apply to components accessed through BEA's bi-directional COM-Java (jCOM) bridging tool. A COM resource is a specific type of WebLogic resource that is designed as a program component object according to Microsoft's framework.

To access security policies for a JCOM resource associated with an EJB:

  1. In the left pane, expand Deployments and select the EJB resource, for example:

    Deployments > MyEAR > EJBs > myEJB

  2. On the Settings page for the EJB resource select Security > JCOM to display the JCOM Classes table.
  3. Click the JCOM class to display the Policy Conditions page.

Note: In this version of WebLogic Server you cannot assign a scoped role to a JCOM resource that accesses an EJB. You can use a global role instead. See Create global security roles

  4. Return to the main task. Start at Create security policies: step 2
