Access JDBC application resources

Before you begin

This subtask is part of the main task for creating a security policy. Start with the main task: Create security policies

Security policies for JDBC (Java Database Connector) application resources apply to JDBC data sources that are deployed as standalone applications (available globally) or packaged with an application EAR or WAR.

Access policies for this resource by following either step 1 or step 2.

  1. To use the Deployments node:
    1. In the left panel, expand Deployments and select the JDBC application resource
    2. Expand the deployment and select or packaged resource, for example::

      Deployments > MyGlobalJDBC

    3. On the Settings page for the JDBC resource, select Security > Policies to display the Policy Conditions page.
  2. To use the Policies table:
    1. In the left panel select Security Realms.
    2. On the Security Realm summary page select the name of the realm (for example, myrealm)
    3. On the Realm Settings page select Roles and Policies > Policies.
    4. On the Policies page expand Deployments to display the JDBC resource, for example:

      Deployments > myGlobalJDBC

    5. Select the radio button next to the resource name and click Create Policy.

The Policy Conditions page for the resource appears.

  3. If you're creating a security policy for a standalone JDBC resource, use the Methods drop-down menu to specify a method that you want to protect, or select ALL to protect all methods.
  4. Return to the main task. Start at Create security policies: step 2
