Access Web Service resources

Before you begin

This subtask is part of the main task for creating a security policy. Start with the main task: Create security policies

Security policies for Web Service resources apply to Web Services deployed as standalone modules or with an Enterprise application (EAR).

Note: In addition to security roles and policies, WebServices has it's own security mechanism. See Configuring Security for WebServices

Access security policies for this resource by following either step 1 or step 2.

  1. To use the Deployments node:
    1. In the left panel, expand Deployments and select the Web Service resource, for example:

      Deployments > MyEAR > myWebService

    2. On the Settings page for the selected resource, select Security > Policies to display the Policy Conditions page.
  2. To use the Policies table:

Note: The Policies table provides centralized access to all global and scoped security roles. For more information, see List security policies

    1. In the left panel, select Security Realms.
    2. On the Security Realms Summary page select the name of the realm (for example, myrealm)
    3. On the Realm Settings page select Role and Policies > Policies.
    4. In the Policies table expand Deployments and display the Web Service resource, for example:

      Deployments > MYEAR > myWebService

    5. Select the radio button next to Web Service resource and click Create Policy.

The Policy Conditions page for the resource appears.
