Access Web Service resources

Before you begin

This subtask is part of the main task for creating a new scoped security role. Start with the main task: Create scoped security roles

Scoped security roles for Web Service resources apply to Web Services deployed as standalone modules or with an Enterprise application (EAR).

Note: In addition to security roles and policies, WebServices has it's own security mechanism. See Configuring Security for WebServices

Access scoped roles for this resource by following either step 1 or step 2.

  1. To use the Deployments node:
    1. In the left panel expand Deployments and select the Web Service resource, for example:

Deployments > MyEAR > Modules > Web Services > MyWebService

    2. On the Settings page select Security > Roles to display the Scoped Roles table.
  2. To use the Roles table:

Note: The Roles table provides centralized access to all global and scoped security roles. For more information, see List security roles

    1. In the WebLogic Server Administration Console, select Security Realms.
    2. On the Security Realms page select the name of the realm (for example, myrealm)
    3. On the Realms Settings page select Roles and Policies > Roles.
    4. On the Roles table expand Deployments and select the Roles node for the Web Service resource, for example:

      Deployments > MyEAR > Modules > myWebService > Roles

This displays the Scoped Roles table.

  3. Return to the main task. Start at Create scoped security roles: step 2
